Green screen compositing is a technique by which foreground elements, like actors, can be separated from their current background and then
placed in a new background which is digitally created.

The actors are shot against a saturated green-colored backdrop and then placed in a new computer generated background.

Green is commonly used because there is less green in human face tone.
